Guidelines
The CH Message Board has been created for the non-commercial use of customers of Critical Hit, Inc. Membership is provided only for non-commercial purposes. If you are a game retailer or wholesaler, be advised no solicitation, market research, or other commercial activity is permitted and your membership will be deleted if you choose to ignore these guidelines and register. If you are a principal, employee agent, or person publicly identified with a competitor of Critical Hit, Inc. you are not authorized to sign up for this message board and any attempt at perusing or accessing this online community is not authorized. Be advised your IP address is captured for identification purposes in the event of unauthorized access.
No item or items may be put up for sale, including classified ads, references to classified ads, Ebay or other auction listings, or web sites and web links with items for sale. All other forms of commerce outside that transacted and conducted by the host Critical Hit, Inc. are strictly prohibited. These guidelines are a set of rules about how to conduct yourself at www.criticalhit.com.
These rules are based on basic online etiquette. Please familiarize yourself with them to avoid any problems with other community members. The CH Community members do not appreciate ad hominem attacks in response to ideas the attacker disagrees with. Ad hominem, or personal, attacks are remarks intended to offend, insult, degrade, belittle, provoke, or demean other users. The MODs of the CHMB reserve the right to delete offending terms, posts, and members that fail to meet the stated guidelines here. The MODs reserve the right to use replacement terms for offending posts and words that breach these stated terms with EDITs that may be called out, but otherwise are freely replaced with examples including, OFFENDING TROLL SAYS “STUPID”, MOD REPLACES WITH “HAPPY”. If you can’t hack that kind of thing, do not breach our friendly terms and allow the fun to transpire.
If you have been banned for any reason, you may not register with CHMB again. There is a big, wide internet for you to be naughty in - just not here. If you gaslight or troll the publisher, mods, or customers - you are OUT. This is a private club, all validations are reviewed by a human being - gaming the site is not easy and when you are nailed, your name, IP and other details can and will be used against you in a court of law if needed.
If you feel you cannot argue your point without resorting to attacking your opponent personally, please take your self elsewhere. There is a 'one strike' policy here and your membership will be revoked upon one infraction without reference to ‘explaining’ the decision to you. The CH Community Message Board moderators and administrators are here to help you with posting issues and to maintain the integrity of the boards. They are volunteers and community members.
Please refrain from the use of vulgar language, harassment of other users, racial or ethnic slurs, sexism, or slander. Please remember that the forums are an extension of CH/MiH work environment. CH is committed to maintaining a threat-free environment for its employees and customers. Images that are not appropriate for the workplace are not to be posted. Do not use inappropriate images on our forums - ones endorsing pornography, software piracy; or those that “slam” any individual or company.
You may not repost posts from here – one strike and you are OUT – see above. Do not publicly re-post private email without the express written permission of the e-mail's original sender (e-mail is protected by copyright). Do not publicly re-post private discussions with others that were held over messaging clients without permission from all the other owners (participants) of the messages. Please refrain from having personal discussions with other board members on the forums; there are e-mail and Internet messaging programs for that purpose. Do not attempt to impersonate other forum members, CH/MiH officials, and/or forum moderators/administrators. Such an attempt will not be successful and it is an offense that will get you banned from the forums - no ifs, ands, or buts about it - this is non-negotiable.
Out of courtesy to other forum users and our moderators we expect you to use only one username on our forums. Please do not post email addresses, standard addresses, ICQ and other messaging client numbers, or phone numbers which are not your own, again this activity will get you banned from our forums. I agree that I may receive periodic E-mails from Critical Hit, Inc. and hereby warrant and state that I will not refer to or report same as 'spam'. I may opt out on request and my CHMB membership will be cancelled in that event. If you do not like these rules, please do not post. If you break these rules, we reserve the right to revoke your posting privileges on all CH/MiH message services and/or edit out any offending content – while leaving non offending content, especially if our members have replied to it.
Remember, posting here is a privilege and not a right. The CHMB is provided at no charge to our customers and we aim to keep this place troll free.
Note: Since 2004, only 15 trolls have been banned from over 3000 registrations. If they collect in the same place on the internet they make a sound - be an adult and recognize this. Referencing off-CHMB trolls will get your post deleted or you banned. Or both.
